It is important to clean your printer regularly to keep it in the best condition. However, your printer is definitely due a clean if you notice any of the following:
- Ribbons breaking or tearing
- Card feeding issues
- Reduced image quality
- Printing defects such as smudging or lines through the surface of the card
Can I Disinfect My Printer?
Not only does the inside of your printer need cleaning but the outside does too, especially in the current times. You can disinfect your printer as long as you’re careful. Make sure not to spray or pour cleaning products directly onto your printer. Power down and unplug your machine and wipe it gently with a damp cloth. To disinfect we recommend using a 70% isopropyl alcohol solution, wearing gloves as you do so and making sure to wash your hands when you’re done.
