This guide will cover our range of NXP MIFARE coin tags and other related products.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">What is MIFARE?<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><b>MIFARE<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is a proximity card format developed by NXP. These cards operate on a frequency of 13.56 MHz. MIFARE Cards are used only with proximity readers that can handle the MIFARE format.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">NXP MIFARE Coin Tags<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.windmill-computing.com\/products\/view-one\/pn\/BDG-CTW-MF1K-N-25\/page\/smart-cards\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">MIFARE 1k white adhesive coin tag<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is 25mm in diameter<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> NXP has developed this to be used in a contactless smart card according to ISO\/IEC 14443 Type A. In addition, it<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is used in applications such as public transport ticketing, where major cities have adopted MIFARE as their e-ticketing solution of choice.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Other applications include:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Access Control<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Event Ticketing<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Gaming and Identity<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">One of these tags, if bought individually, will cost only <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a31.24 each.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Related Products\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">MIFARE Classic EV1\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The MIFARE Classic EV1 can store 1k of information divided into 16 sectors of 4 blocks. Each block contains 16 bytes. The last block of each sector can be used to store the access keys and conditions. Additionally, the first block of sector 0 is used to store the card serial number (CSN) and any other identifying information. Thus, the space used to store application data is 752 bytes.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">MIFARE Classic 4k\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">These cards store 4k of information divided into 40 sectors; the first 32 are of 4 blocks, while the last 8 are of 16 blocks. As with the 1k card, the last block of each sector is used for access control, while the first block of sector 0 is for the CSN. The amount of space available in practice on the card is 3440 bytes.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Summary &#8211; Dual Technology<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">NXP Mifare coin tags, such as the white, adhesive coin tag that we provide, are helpful for a wide range of applications. They are developed to be used in a contactless smart card according to ISO\/IEC 14443. It can be used for public transport and access control, event ticketing, gaming and identity. Mifare also provides several other products, such as the Mifare classic EV1 and Mifare Classic EV4.
